Speaker Spotlight

Chris Hammond

Former 12-year Major League Baseball Pitcher | Founder, Chris Hammond Youth Foundation

We invite you to join us on Thursday,

April 23rd from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM at The 1818 Club to hear Chris Hammond share his powerful story of faith, family, and service. Chris will speak on the importance of living as a follower of Jesus Christ, not merely a fan, and what it truly means to overflow Christ’s love into your home and community. You can register to attend his presentation here.

Chris Hammond pitched more than a dozen seasons in Major League Baseball, including time with the Cincinnati Reds, Florida Marlins, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres, and of course, the Atlanta Braves. Drafted out of Gulf Coast Community College after beginning his collegiate career at UAB, Chris was blessed with a long professional career that allowed him to compete at the highest level of the sport.

But what stands out even more than his time on the mound is his walk with Christ and his commitment to serving others.

Chris believes God used baseball as a platform, giving him opportunities across multiple teams and cities, to build a foundation that would one day draw people to hear his story. Today, that story centers on faith, loving and leading his family well, and living out the ministry of Jesus in practical ways.

Through the Chris Hammond Youth Foundation, he champions athletics programs in underprivileged and rural communities, helping keep young people off the streets and guiding them toward character, discipline, and purpose. For Chris, it’s not just about building talent, it’s about building lives.

He and his wife, whom he met in Cincinnati, have two sons and one daughter and live in the Birmingham area.

Join us as Chris shares how faith, family, and service define a life that truly matters.
